Bhopal, Nov 20 (IANS) A group of miscreants, who were allegedly involved in creating ruckus, creating panic and disrupting law and order in Bhopal on November 18, were paraded by the police on Thursday.
The incident took place on Gondipura Jail Road in Gandhi Nagar police station area, where a group of unidentified youth created a ruckus late in the night, damaged vehicles and also beat up some people.
The miscreants had come on a motorcycle and started shouting the name of a particular car model, which revealed that a particular vehicle was their target.
However, unaware of the exact location of the vehicle, they started damaging other cars parked nearby, including the vehicle of resident Mahesh Thakur.
Gandhi Nagar police swung into action and started investigation after scanning the CCTV cameras and within the next 24 hours he was arrested on Thursday.
The shocking incident was captured on CCTV installed in the area, which helped the police to identify the accused involved in illegal activities and laid a trap to nab them.
On Thursday, Gandhi Nagar police took the arrested people to the same area where they had created the ruckus and made them apologize for their actions.
It is noteworthy that after a video clip of the incident surfaced on Tuesday night, DCP Mayur Khandelwal had said that the accused persons would be caught as soon as possible and taught a lesson for disrupting law and order in the city.
Importantly, on Tuesday night, Bhopal witnessed another such incident when more than a dozen masked miscreants stormed a cafe in the city’s Misrod area and vandalized furniture using swords and sticks.
The attack lasted for less than 2 minutes and CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media platforms.
Misrod police has registered a case against five named accused and their associates under relevant sections. The police is now investigating the case from the angle of mutual enmity.
According to the police, initial investigation shows that the attackers did not intend to commit robbery. They simply entered the café, vandalized the property and fled. This led the police to suspect that the attack may have been carried out out of revenge.
