MP Key makes the post of 354 senior residents in government hospitals

Bhopal: In an important step to overcome the lack of medical faculty in government institutions, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved the construction of 354 senior residents of doctors in major hospitals of cities including Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur.

This decision is expected to increase both healthcare distribution and medical education in the state. Till now, there was a shortage of nominated posts for residents of government hospitals in Madhya Pradesh – an important requirement for medical professionals wishing to become faculty members in medical colleges.

According to the current criteria, doctors must fulfill a year residence to qualify for teaching roles in medical colleges.

The absence of such opportunities caused a hurdle in faculty development, despite the increasing number of medical colleges in the state.

After the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Urban Development Minister and Government spokesperson, Kailash Vijaywargia said, “This is an important decision.”

He added, “Without senior resident positions, doctors were unable to gain necessary practical experiences, which in turn affected the formation of a qualified faculty.”

The newly approved posts will allow hospitals to absorb senior resident doctors, allowing trained professionals that can infection in educational roles. The move is expected to reduce the lack of faculty and improve the quality of medical education, the minister further said.

Officials believe that the initiative will have a cascading effect; Hospitals will benefit from additional hand care, while medical colleges will get access to experienced teachers.

Dual role of resident doctors – providing services and teaching – patient will increase both care and educational hardness.

The expansion of rapid and new medical colleges in the healthcare sector is being established across the state, the demand for a qualified faculty has never been high. The government’s decision is seen as a strategic step towards long -term capacity building to make senior residence institutional. Initially, the posts will be distributed to major government hospitals in Bhopal, Gwalior and Jabalpur, in which the implementation is expected to start soon. All medical colleges which are in offing will also benefit from resident doctors.
