Bhopal, November 2 (IANS) Organic and natural farming adopted by the farmers of Guna in Madhya Pradesh has proved to be a boon for the farmers.

Organic farming has transformed agricultural enterprises into profitable enterprises and is proving helpful in rapidly increasing the income of farmers, as envisioned by the Prime Minister.

As the dreams of farmers are coming true, they are increasingly adopting this modern method of organic farming.

Guna district administration, in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture and Agriculture, started the initiative to organize an organic market every Sunday at Shastri Park in the city to provide a platform for farmers doing organic and natural farming and to make available pure, indigenous, organic fruits and vegetables to the public.

The program was inaugurated by Guna Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal.

Farmers showcased their organic produce here and reported higher earnings as well as increased demand for chemical-free fruits and vegetables.

Farmers of Thai Guava, Spinach, Bhatti, Bottle Gourd, Lemon, Chilli, Tomato, Wheat, Moong Dal, Gram, Organic Manure and other crops, fruits and vegetables from Bamori, Raghogarh, Guna and surrounding areas of Guna district reached the organic market, set up stalls, supported the market and made huge purchases of organic fruits and vegetables.

Farmers doing organic and natural farming said that their income from organic farming has increased due to the use of technology. He said that doubling the income of farmers is the dream of the Prime Minister and this model is helping in realizing his dream along with increasing the production of pure and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Nathu Ram Lodha, a farmer, said, “Through agricultural knowledge and guidance, we have started farming on one and a half acres of land. From the same plot, we are now regularly producing at least 10 kg per unit, and the production is continuing steadily.”

Another farmer, Udayam Singh Lodha, told IANS, “Through interactions with the horticulture department and the agriculture division of the Atma project, we were advised that the way we are currently farming can be improved by adopting natural farming methods.”

Mohan Singh, a villager, said, “In our farm we grow wheat, moong, sugarcane, tomatoes and peas. We have been cultivating it for 10-12 years and it is quite profitable. For example, wheat which was earlier sold at a low price now sells for ₹6,000 per quintal, moong for ₹12,000 per quintal and sugarcane for ₹10,000 per quintal. This gives good production and profits to the farmers. Is.”

“It is the vision of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to double or quadruple the income of farmers and ensure that people get nutritious food. To support this, the district administration under the guidance of the collector has organized a weekly organic market,” KPS Kirar, deputy director of the horticulture department, told IANS.
