MP CM pay tribute to freedom fighters Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah

Bhopal/Jabalpur, 18 September (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday paid tribute to tribal fruit fighters Raja Shankar Shah and his son Kunwar Raghunath Shah on their martyrdom day.

While the Governor paid tribute to flowers before his paintings during an event held at Raj Bhavan and bowed down in reverence, Chief Minister Yadav participated in the event held in Jabalpur and recalled his magnificent heritage.

The Chief Minister along with state Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh visited the museum dedicated to the life stories of two mythological tribal leaders.

Several other tribal leaders and local BJP leaders of Jabalpur district were also present.

In particular, the jail room where tribal leaders Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah were arrested by the British after their arrest in 1857 and the place where they were sentenced to death are being developed as a museum.

The Chief Minister said, “This museum, which protects stories of tribal pride and valor, will always keep the memories of unique sacrifices of King Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah alive.”

Addressing the program, CM Yadav said that the two tribal heroes spread the spirit of freedom among the tribal community through the country and the root cause of this revolution was ‘Swadeshi’.

Chief Minister Yadav said that Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah gave their lives for the country during the independence struggle of the country.

He said that he created enthusiasm and enthusiasm for freedom among people through his thoughts and poems against the oppressive policies of British rule.

“Honoring his sacrifices, we should also adopt the concept of ‘Swadeshi’ to empower India. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also decided to promote ‘Swadeshi’, so let’s support everyone to make Madhya Pradesh ‘self -reliant’ and a developed state,” CM Yadav said.
