Indore, Oct 18 (IANS) 17-year-old girl Sanskriti Verma, one of the victims of a horrific truck accident who was taken to Mumbai for medical treatment after suffering serious head injuries, has returned to her home in Indore.
Verma suffered serious injuries and was taken to Bombay Hospital in Mumbai on 20 September for medical treatment. He underwent four surgeries in about a month. She is now said to be stable.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke to Sanskriti Verma through video conferencing and inquired about her health and expressed happiness over her recovery. Indore District Collector Shivam Verma also visited his house on Saturday.
“The prompt initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government has brought back the smile of Indore’s daughter (Sanskriti Verma). She has returned to her home after treatment in Mumbai,” the Chief Minister wrote on Twitter.
The tragic accident took place in Indore on September 15 when a truck entered the no-entry zone on Airport Road and mowed down people walking on foot from Ramchandra Nagar intersection to Bada Ganpati. In this incident, four people including Sanskriti Verma died and 18 people were injured.
After the first five days of treatment at Bhandari Hospital in Indore, Sanskriti was airlifted to Mumbai, where she underwent surgery on her head and hand. On the recommendation of doctors, he was referred to Mumbai.
According to the information, Sanskriti underwent four surgeries in Mumbai. A complex surgery was performed on the arm and leg, in which a vein was cut from the leg and transplanted into the arm.
Sanskriti is reportedly conscious, talking and eating, but she cannot walk. There has been no significant improvement from physiotherapy in Mumbai. Further treatment including physiotherapy will continue in Indore.
