Morgan Spurlock, acclaimed documentary filmmaker Super Size MeDied at the age of 53.

His brother Craig Spurlock confirmed the heartbreaking news to the outlet, saying, “It was a sad day as we said goodbye to our brother Morgan.”
Craig, who worked with his brother on several projects, said, “Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas, and generosity. Today, the world has lost a true creative genius. I was honored to work closely with him.” But very proud.”
Morgan left a significant mark in the industry with his famous project, Super Size Me, In a 2004 documentary, he recorded himself conducting an experiment in which he ate only McDonald’s food every day for a month.
The 30-day challenge contained a rule that Morgan could not decline the super-sized option if prompted during a transaction. They also reduced their exercise to match the physical activity of an average American.
At the end of the month-long experiment, Spurlock claimed he gained 25 pounds and suffered from depression and liver dysfunction.
Spurlock is survived by his mother, Phyllis Spurlock; father, Ben Iris; two children, Laken and Cullen; former spouses, Alexandra Jamison and Sarah Bernstein; brothers Craig and Barry; and several nieces and nephews.
