Heatwave and constant dry weather have seen London Fire Brigade Tack more Forest fire This summer compared to the entire 2024.
A senior fire fighter stated that the crew was experiencing a “busy summer” and they were working under “very challenging circumstances” to bring the blaze under control.

After Daganham Fire, Station Commander Matt Heword said: “Firefighters worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby properties.
“The fire had reached some garden fence, shed and garden furniture. At the same time our jets, we used wildfire beatsers to defeat flames and prevent them from reaching the properties.
“We also thank Barking and Daganham Council, who broke the fire, helping the fire to prevent the assets from reaching the properties.”
One of the four wildfire response vehicles being currently tested by LFB was deployed in the incident.
Vehicles, which have off-road capabilities, are able to bring the equipment closer to the open ground and allow firefighters to water and drive, making the grass fire sharp and safe.
