Khartoum:
A local official announced that more than 114 civilians were killed in attacks by the paramilitary rapid support force (RSF) in two displacement camps in the last two days in the North Darfur state capital El Fashar in Western Sudan.
Ibrahim Kharti, Director General of North Darfur State Health Authority, said, “More than 100 civilians were killed as a result of the brutal attack launched by RSF militia yesterday (Friday), with dozens of injuries,” Ibrahim Khatir, Director General of Darfur State Health Authority, told Sinhua.
He said, “Today (Saturday), 14 citizens were also killed, dozens of people were injured due to another militia attack on the Abu hobby displacement camp.”
Khatir said that one of the dead in the Zamzam camp was a non-governmental organization, nine employees of a non-governmental organization operating a field hospital in the camp.
A volunteer group, an emergency room, said in a statement that 40 civilians were killed and hundreds were injured on Saturday as a result of heavy shelling by RSF at the Abu hobby camp.
RSF did not release any immediate comment about the attacks.
