Check Your Freezer: Even More potentially radioactive shrimp Has been recalled.

Seattle-based AquaStar Corp. has released eleventh memory since August of frozen shrimp products Imported from Indonesia Which might have been contaminated by radiation.

According to an October 17 press release from the Food and Drug Administration, the company said its shrimp were likely exposed to “very low levels.” cesium-137A man-made radioactive substance that can cause cancer.

The most recent recalls involve products sold under the AquaStar, Best Yet, Publix and Waterfront Bistro brand names.

The recall involves five-pound bags of AquaStar’s Frozen Raw Easy-Peel White Shrimp, which were sold at Winco Foods in the following states:

From Best Yet, several one-pound packages of Frozen Raw Easy-Peel White Shrimp have been recalled after being distributed by C&S Wholesale grocery stores in the following states:

  • connecticut
  • I
  • Massachusetts
  • new Hampshire
  • new Jersey
  • new york
  • ohio
  • pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont

Publix shoppers should also check if they purchased AquaStar’s Raw Shrimp Easy Peel Divided, or Publix brand XL Shrimp Easy to Peel Divided or Large Shrimp Peel and Divided Tail from the following states:

  • Georgia
  • kentucky
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina
  • tennessee
  • Virginia

Two pound bags of Frozen Raw Easy-Peel White Shrimp are being recalled from Waterfront Bistro, Shaw’s and Star Market stores in the following states:

The same product has been recalled from Safeway, Albertsons, Eagle and Carrs-Safeway stores in the following states:

Previously, AquaStar had already issued other recalls for Kroger and other brands as well for frozen shrimp over CS-137. great valuePossibly contaminated products include frozen cooked shrimp, shrimp skewers and cocktail shrimp.

All Target brands were initially processed by Indonesian supplier BMS Foods. The company, which supplies millions of pounds of shrimp to the US each year, has been on full import alert since then.

Shrimp products may be contaminated with CS-137 due to being “prepared, packed or kept” under unsanitary conditions.

The full list of recalled items affected by potential contamination is available for customers to check by brand name, product code and “best by” dates.

The FDA said the withdrawal is a precautionary measure No illnesses have been reportedBut customers still shouldn’t eat the shrimp. Instead, buyers are urged to throw away the product or return it to the store where it was purchased.
