“More important thing, justice should be done”: PDP MLA Paragam Terror Attack

People’s Democratic Party MLA Wahid Para on Monday emphasized the need for justice instead of interacting with Pakistan after the April 22 terror attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

Beyond the special session in the J&K Legislative Assembly to address the attack, Para said, “More important thing, justice should be done,” when asked if he was asked whether there should be talks with Pakistan on the matter.

Para condemned the attack as a communal work aimed at dividing the people of Kashmir.

He further said that such resentment on the attack was seen in Kashmir after 30 years.

“I think there is a strong dissatisfaction in Kashmir against this act of violence, and it is a communal function. They (terrorists) are trying to break us. The people of Kashmir stand with the nation. They feel and understand the pain of the country, and those who have died in this attack are our martyrs, and we are with the nation,” said the PDP leader.

He said, “I think the Indian government will respond. But from Kashmir, I would say that there is a strong resentment against violence for the first time in the last 30 years.”

In a separate statement, BJP leader Shagun Parihar said that the entire politics of Pakistan has been reduced to target a particular community in India and Prime Minister Modi has enough ability to give an answer.

“The entire politics of Pakistan has been reduced to how much they can target a particular community in India. Our Prime Minister is able to give them an answer,” said Parihar.

Meanwhile, J&K Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary made a proposal to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack and supported the diplomatic measures announced by the Central Government after the Cabinet Committee meeting on security.

The attack in Pahgam is one of the most deadly attacks in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, killing 40 CRPF personnel. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan to support cross-limit terrorism. (AI)
