"Modi ji has mastered the art of slogans, not a solution," Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized "Make in India".

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that despite the promises of “Make in India” factory boom, manufacturing in the country is a record low and young unemployment is very high.

Gandhi questioned the effectiveness of the “Make in India” initiative, highlighting that the manufacturing in the country has reduced the economy’s record of 14 percent since 2014.

He pointed to the growing youth unemployment and doubling of imports from China, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of focusing on slogans rather than real solutions.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi shared a video and wrote, “Make in India” promised a factory bounce. So why is construction on record climbing, record high youth unemployment, and imports from China double? Modi ji has mastered the art of slogans, not a solution. Since 2014, manufacturing has fallen to 14% of our economy. ,

He highlighted the challenges faced by the youth of India, shared in a post that he met two talented youths, Shivam and Saif in Nehru Place, New Delhi, unable to fulfill their ability.

He criticized the current economic model of the country and said, “In Nehru Place, New Delhi, I met Shivam and Saif – bright, skilled, filled with promises – yet denied the opportunity to fulfill it. The truth is clear: we gather, we import, but we do not build China’s profits.”

He said that Prime Minister Modi has no new idea and has left India’s industries.
He said that even the important PLI scheme is being stopped quietly.

Gandhi called for major changes to help Indian producers with honest reforms and financial assistance, warning that if India does not build its industries, it will continue to shop from other countries.

“With no new idea, Modi ji has surrendered. Even the multi-honor PLI scheme is now being quietly rolled. India requires a fundamental change-one which empowers millions of producers through honest reforms and financial assistance. We will have to stop being a market here. If we do not make it. If we do not make it, we will remain.

The Make in India Initiative was launched by the Prime Minister in September 2014 as part of a broad set of nation-building initiative. (AI)
