Anantnag, May 18, KDC: In a compassionate gesture to the victims of the human-wildlife struggle, Member (MLA) of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pahgam, M Altaf Kalu, today distributed pre-Gatiya relief check in Townhall Aishmukam.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Kalu emphasized the immediate requirement of a comprehensive and strategic plan to reduce the increasing incidence of human-welfare struggle in the region. “While pre-Gatiia provides temporary assistance to relief victims, our main focus should be on preventing such incidents from being in the first place,” he said.
On the occasion, the DFO made a detailed presentation, which highlighted the ongoing efforts, achievements and future strategies of the department with the aim of reducing human-welfare struggles and ensuring safety for both communities and wildlife.
Later, the MLA chaired the advisory meeting on the management of the over-earu wildlife sanctuary, in addition, it was estimated that he first saw a detailed and scientific plan for over-aero WLS for 2025– 2035 to 10 years, a detailed DPR for Mini Zoo Pahgam was also appreciated.
The initiative was appreciated by the victims, who hoped for more active measures and increased community involvement in wildlife management.
