The city of Mississaga has obtained a temporary court prohibition in an attempt to create a problem at the West-And Plaza.

The temporary prohibition will be effective from the afternoon on August 13, 2025, from 15 August, 2025 at 2 pm, and on August 19, 2025 from noon to 20 August, 2025 from 2 pm.
“The city is aware of plans for mass meetings at the Redway Plaza for Pakistan Independence Day on 13 and 14 August, and on August 19 for Afghanistan Independence Day. The city pursued this prohibition to prevent planned unwanted unwanted events, which will disrupt public orders and security in the community,” he said.
The city said in its statement that it is not targeting any specific group or individuals, but is focused on ensuring public safety and reducing community disturbances.
Anyone who violates orders can be fined, detained and/or arrested.
