Police said Lauber’s family has been notified.

All of the agencies listed have dedicated significant efforts and resources in hopes of a positive outcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lauber family.”
After news of Lauber’s death broke, Emporia Public Schools issued a statement saying the district would provide counselors and support teams for students and staff.
District officials also asked the community and media to respect the family’s privacy as they grieve.
