Srinagar, 09 August: Water Power Minister Javed Rana on Saturday visited Nishad and Alstang Water Freaking Plants under construction to review the water supply systems of Srinagar.
He assessed the availability of potable water, filtration processes and progress on ongoing functions, including under-construction 3.0mgd rapid sand filter plant.
The minister directed the officials to ensure regular maintenance, adopt modern best practices and guarantee uninterrupted water supply.
He followed to project the deadline and called for an immediate purchase of alum to increase filtration efficiency.
The government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to ensure access to safe, clean and quality drinking water for every house in Jammu and Kashmir.
