Baramulla, 19 June: Minister of Water Power, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, and Agricultural Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative Societies and Election Minister, Javed Ahmed Dar today reviewed the developmental activities of Baramulla district in Duck Bangallah Baralla.
The objective of the meeting is to assess effective implementation of various development programs and schemes under District Capex Budget 2024-25.
Minister Javed Rana, who is also the minister in-charge of District Baramulla, made extensive review of Minister Javed Dar as well as sector-wise schemes, demanded a detailed status report on individual projects from the department heads.
Rana instructed all the heads of the departments to conduct the visit to the site to monitor the progress and maintain the projects on time, maintain quality and accountability. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to involve representatives of the people in all developmental activities in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Baramullah, Minga Sherpa, highlighted a comprehensive observation of the district’s developmental landscape, highlighting financial and material progress.
He said that the district has achieved significant progress, which has 94% implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and 88% targeted expenditure for the financial year 2024-25.
The MLAs from various constituencies raised major public grievances and developmental demands, including road macadamization, access to potable water and road lighting. The ministers assured timely prevention and action on these demands.
Minister Dar insisted on the need for a kind approach to address the misuse of drugs, urged to join with individuals affected by health services and law enforcement agencies and to provide consultation, treatment and support for their re -reunction in society.
Prior to the meeting, ministers participated in a plantation campaign within the premises of Duck Bungalow Baramulla, strengthening their commitment to environmental stability.
The meeting was attended by local MLAs, in which Javed Hassan Begh, Irfaz Lone, Irshad Rasul Kar, Riyaz Bed and Dr. Sajad Shafi was involved.
