Microsoft’s new AI chatbot (Safety Co-Pilot) will launch next month

An artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot centered on artificial intelligence cybersecurity will be generally available next month. Copilot for Security targets businesses and organizations to protect them from breaches and hackers. The tech giant first announced the news in March 2023, and a year later, the company made it public. The platform functions similarly to other Copilot chatbots, allowing users to ask security-related queries and conduct threat analysis and investigations.

It added: “Copilot is informed by large-scale data and threat intelligence, including the more than 78 trillion security signals Microsoft processes every day, and combined with large language models to provide tailored insights and guide next steps.”

Copilot for Security is multilingual, providing support for 25 different languages. The platform functions like any other Copilot chatbot and accepts natural language input.

The chatbot will come in two different versions – a standalone portal and a security product that can be embedded into an organization’s existing security systems. Cybersecurity professionals can enter a query asking it to summarize vulnerabilities, send files, URLs, and code for threat analysis, or even start an investigation into a specific incident.

Microsoft’s artificial intelligence platform also gained new capabilities. It now offers Custom Prompt Booklets, allowing users to create and save their own series of natural language prompts for common security tasks. It also provides integration with existing business knowledge bases and logic systems. Additionally, chatbots provide additional insights for security investigations or IT issue analysis of audit logs related to specific users or events.

In terms of pricing, Microsoft said Copilot for Security will come on a pay-as-you-go plan, with organizations paying only for the number of tasks they perform using AI. The service is billed on a monthly basis, with a minimum charge of $4 (approximately Rs. 331) per hour of usage.
