Microsoft Copilot for Security will be generally available starting April 1; check out what’s new

Microsoft has announced the global availability of Microsoft Copilot, its generative artificial intelligence (AI) solution for security professionals. Over the past few months, the Washington-based tech giant has been working to incorporate artificial intelligence into its suite of products. It has brought its AI services under one umbrella – Microsoft Copilot. This even includes its AI chatbot, which is taking on the likes of ChatGPT and Google Bard. In a new development, another Microsoft service called Copilot for Security has been made available to the public.

What is Microsoft Copilot for Security?

Microsoft Copilot for Security is an artificial intelligence service that enables cybersecurity professionals to quickly respond to online threats while allowing them to conduct risk assessments in just minutes. It uses large language models (LLMs) provided by OpenAI and combines them with large-scale data and threat intelligence, including the 78 trillion security signals that Microsoft processes every day.

In a new development, Microsoft Announce Copilot for Security will be generally available starting April 1st. Users will be able to enter prompts in 8 languages, and it will have a multilingual interface that supports up to 25 languages. Microsoft says it will be available in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

To make it available to everyone, Microsoft is also launching a pay-per-use licensing model that will support consumption-based subscriptions. This means professionals only pay for the amount of services they use during a specific period.

Copilot for Security launches new features

Along with the announcement of its public release, Microsoft also said it will include some new features. This includes:

1. Customized prompt manual- With this feature, users will be able to create and save their own natural language prompts instead of relying on preset prompts.

2. Knowledge base integration – While this feature is in preview, users will be able to integrate their business logic with Copilot for Security, allowing them to perform tasks according to internal guidelines.

3. Third-party integration- As the name suggests, Copilot for Security will allow users to integrate third-party solutions being developed around the world.

4.Multi-language support- Microsoft Copilot for Security will accept prompts in 8 languages, and its interface supports up to 25 languages.

5. Microsoft Entra audit logs and diagnostic logs – With this feature, users will be able to perform IT analysis as well as audit log investigation, even if it is related to a specific event or user. Additionally, the analysis will be summarized in natural language.

6. Defender external attack surface management – With Defender EASM, users will be able to map their digital attack surface and the external risks associated with it. They can then analyze the corresponding updated information.

7. Usage Report – Usage reports will give teams insight into how Copilot for Security is being used and what steps they can take to achieve better optimization.

All these features of Microsoft Copilot for Security are designed to further enhance the steps that cybersecurity professionals take to keep users safe around the world.
