A customer at a Michigan restaurant shot and injured an employee after eating guacamole, a type of guacamole.

The incident captured on video showed the suspect, a 32-year-old man, flashing a gun when a 21-year-old Chipotle Mexican Grill employee tried to grab his sweatshirt to prevent him from leaving the store.

As the employee briefly walked to the back of the restaurant, the customer walked around the counter, trying to grab his food and put it in a bag, a witness told Fox News. When the employee returned, fighting began and gunshots were soon heard.

Michigan State Police did not reveal a motive for the shooting, saying only that it stemmed from a dispute over guacamole.

“I had just finished my bowl when I heard someone yelling. Then I looked over and they were arguing. One of the workers came to the back, I don’t know why, and then while he was in the back, the customer came over.” New York Post “He was near the counter trying to grab his food and put it in a bag,” the newspaper quoted a witness as saying.

The witness added: “Then the employee came back and they started fighting and then we heard a gunshot and ran out as fast as we could.”

The employee was shot in the leg and was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to Southfield police.

Despite the violence, the suspect, a Detroit resident, left the scene calmly and in no rush.

Witness Michael Beales, who witnessed the bizarre incident, said: “He slowly walked out – probably about 30 seconds after (the shooting). I was in the car and saw He walked right up to the car, shut the door.” and drove off – he didn’t speed up or anything, which seemed weird. “

Police quickly found and arrested the gunman nearby.

The nature of the charges he may face in connection with the shooting is unclear at this time, The Washington Post reported.

Laurie Schalow, the Chipotle restaurant’s chief corporate affairs officer, released a statement in response to the incident, expressing sympathy for the injured employee and cooperating with authorities.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the team members who were injured in the senseless act of violence inside the restaurant on Evergreen Road in Southfield, Michigan,” Schalow said.

Schallow added: “We are cooperating with the authorities handling this investigation and hope that the individuals responsible for this crime receive justice.”
