Mice! Are new vehicles attracting wire coverings rodents?

Stephanie Pacheko says that he loves a lot about 2023 Hyundai Palisade. He is not the sole with a deep affection for his car, claiming that mice chewed through a knock sensor wire coating, left with an expensive repair bill that has not been covered under his warranty.

“Many people are saying that this is because it is soya-based,” says Pacheko.

For more than a decade, some car owners have claimed that manufacturers are using soy-based or other biodegradable wire coverings as more environmentally friendly options. They believe that the material is attracting rodents.

A Hyundai spokesperson told Citynues that the wiring material on 2023 Palisade is “not soy-based.”

“Hyundai vehicles make wire coating materials are not attracting mice or are causing any harm that makes them all and are not common among models.”

While Hyundai did not specify which materials they use, other drivers around the world have long complained about biodegradable wire coverings in new vehicles. In the United States, several cases have been filed against not only Hyundai, but other manufacturers. Almost all have been rejected.

Alan Aman is the owner of TSR insect control and removal of wildlife, and he says that soy is necessarily not attracting rodents because they eat through all types of wires – biodegradable or not.

“It seems that there is no pattern that stands out as some types of wires, being chewed more often than others,” they say. “These are in a wide range of vehicles. I would say that Soy in these stars plays a very little role in attracting them.”

Whether it is sleeping or not, the Pacheko is confident that whatever the wiring coating is made, it is attracting rodents.

“I have five cars standing at one place. I have cars that are standing in all winters. There has never been an issue,” he explained. “This is only mine. It’s less there, the lowest time of all cars, and yet I have only one that is being chewed. I think it speaks for itself.”
