Meteorological Department predicts rain in TN till 26 September

Chennai, September 21 (IANS) The Regional Meteorological Center in Chennai has estimated that widespread rainfall will continue in Tamil Nadu, as well as in Puducherry and Karikal till 26 September.

The latest update was recorded in the last 24 hours after several districts of the state. According to the meteorological office, Arkonam in Ranipat district recorded the highest rainfall, which received 7 cm. Each recorded 6 cm of rainfall in Ambatur, Chennai in Thiruvallur district, along with Ayyappakam and Koratur.

Officials said that most of the northern districts, with parts of the south, experience moderate to heavy rains.

Meteorologists blamed the wet conditions prevalent for low-level atmospheric circulation in the southern parts of the state. He said that this system would continue to affect the weather patterns for the next five days, causing rain, thunderstorms and winds in both northern and southern districts.

Puducherry and Karical regions are also expected to experience similar situations during this period.

In Chennai, the forecast indicates light to moderate rainfall, with thunderous and electricity in some areas. Passengers have been advised to plan their journey accordingly, as sudden rain mantras can disrupt road traffic in low-loud areas.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has been continuously performing at Tamil Nadu since it began on 1 June. From Saturday to Saturday, the state received about 30 cm of rainfall-5 percent more than the average of the period.

Meteorologists have described it with a slightly positive trend as a “normal” monsoon season.

Looking forward, meteorologists are closely monitoring the Bay of Bengal, where a new low pressure system is likely to be formed near the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast on 25 September. If it intensifies, it may further increase rainfall activity in Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas in the coming days.

All all with schools, offices and agricultural activities are affected by all constant wet magic, the authorities urged the residents to be cautious to the weather bulletin. Fishermen are also advised to take precautions while entering the sea during this period.
