Kolkata, October 18 (IANS) The weather office on Saturday predicted light rain in six districts of South Bengal and Kolkata in the next few days. However, there is less chance of rain during Kali Puja and Diwali on Monday and Bhai Dooj on Thursday.

Alipore-based Regional Meteorological Center in Kolkata said on Saturday that there will be rain due to the interaction of southerly wind and westerly wind. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain along with thunderstorm and lightning in six districts on Saturday and Sunday.

There is a possibility of rain in North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts on Saturday. Similarly, there is a possibility of rain in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore districts and Kolkata on Sunday.

However, the chances of rain will reduce from Monday. There is a possibility of clear weather on Kali Puja (Bhai Dooj) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The humidity in the air will gradually reduce from Monday.

“The weather will be clear during the festival days. There is less chance of rain on those days. There is a possibility of rain today and tomorrow. On Monday, there is a possibility of rain only in the coastal districts of South Bengal,” a weather department official said.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Kolkata was 24.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of the city on Friday was 32.6 degrees Celsius. Winds coming from the north have brought down the mercury in Kolkata and its surrounding areas, due to which the minimum day temperature has also seen a drop.
