Mehbooba Mufti welcomes India-Pakistan understanding

PDP chief Mehboba Mufti welcomed the understanding of Indian-Pakistan on Saturday, and called for political dialogue to solve the border tension.

Expressing gratitude, Mufti appreciated the understanding between India and Pakistan and said, “Because when there is a conflict between our country and Pakistan, it is the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are the most suffering.”

Mufti also emphasized the positive impact of this understanding on daily life. “I believe that today, perhaps after a long time, people can sleep peacefully.”

He said, “In addition, military solutions are never a real solution – always requires political intervention. We have seen that major global issues are resolved through dialogue.”

Mufti called for regional self-sufficiency in resolving disputes, and said, “Our country is such a big nation with such a large economy-the biggest democracy in the world-so I believe it should not require anyone’s mediation. It should be able to solve itself.”
