- Cost: £375
- Worthy: £685
- number of items: 12
- Highlights of the Advent Calendar: Pearl and Sapphire Charm, Thick Ball Chain Necklace
The advent calendar is a 12-day offering from the finest jewelery brand in the area, available in gold and silver. The first thing I noted is how different it looks from other calendars on the market, with each piece housed inside individual pouches, packed in a sturdy storage box. While the green finish nods towards the festive period, it’s a neutral design that can be reused long after Christmas.
Again, unlike other calendars, there are no numbered boxes in this one – just reusable pouches for each piece that you can open each day in December. Some people won’t like the lack of a “classic” advent calendar, but others will appreciate the longer-term approach.
There are 12 pieces inside the calendar, and all have everyday appeal. Designed for day-to-day mixing and matching, it features four charms (including a statement pearl and a bar design with two green sapphires), which can be paired with any of three delicate necklaces (a flat style and a ball chain) or a matching ball chain bracelet.
Alternatively, you can pair the charms with a statement chunky ball chain necklace or matching bracelet. Completing your overall jewelery look, are a pair of white topaz studs and a ball chain ear cuff – then change to square gold hoops for an evening look. Although these pieces may seem simple at first glance, the styling versatility they offer elevates their value.
Since receiving the advent calendar, hoops, beaded necklaces and pearl drop necklaces have all become almost everyday pieces in my jewelry rotation. I love mixing and matching charms from emerald bar styles to birthstones depending on the occasion, while bracelets are perfect for stacking.
Age of Ember’s first entry into the advent calendar Does not disappoint. Compared to other offerings on the market, the label’s calendar jewelery selection has considerable everyday appeal, helping you get the best value for money. Both pairs of earrings, all necklaces and bracelets have quickly become signatures in my jewelry rotation, while charms help customize your look. Although £375 may seem steep, you are saving almost 50 per cent on the jewelery inside, and the gold plated jewelery will definitely last you for years to come.
