Meghan Markle defends Prince Harry from royals’ ‘hostile scorn’

It appears that Meghan Markle has made a wise decision to save her husband, Prince Harry, from the hostility that she had already anticipated.

The Duke of Sussex, who flew solo to London, attended the much-anticipated 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday. According to royal expert Richard FitzWilliams, while Meghan was listed as a guest for the event, the Duchess did not attend for good reason.

Fitzwilliams suggested mirror Meghan “wisely decided that a hostile press and public would prefer her to stay away from the service at St Paul’s” and that her upcoming trip to Nigeria is “cover for a blowout”.

Prince Harry reportedly requested a meeting with King Charles a month ago but that request was denied. A representative for Harry told the press that the meeting did not take place given the King’s “full diary of events”.

The expert said this would be seen as an “insult”, while sources revealed that the monarch has always kept the door open for his younger son.

“It will be seen as an insult. There is no doubt that this was not arranged as it should have been because King Charles has always made it clear that his door is open to Harry.
