Medical officer suspended in Bandipora for unauthorized absence from duty at I-DAY function

Srinagar, August 16: Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Bandipora on Saturday Dr. Sabia Salaam, Medical Officer, suspended for unauthorized absence from duty and failure to participate in the official Independence Day celebrations, in which his conduct was called ‘a serious violation of discipline’.
According to the suspension order, Dr. Salaam failed to report for scheduled duty on August 14, 2025, which adversely affected the care of the patient in the hospital.

In addition, the authorities also remained absent on August 15 despite clear and written instructions to attend the Independence Day celebrations.
The order states that such conduct is “the volume to insult and disregard for a national event” and “there is a thoughtless rejection of a government servant.”
Calling Rule 31 of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal), read with Article 128 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Regulations, Medical Superintendent. Placed the salute under suspension with immediate effect, pending an inquiry into the case.
During the suspension period, Dr. The head of the Salaam Department, ophthalmology, district hospitals will be connected to Bandipora, and will receive subsistence allowance as per the applicable rules.
