New Delhi, 23 September (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the second day of Shardia Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Brahmacharini, and prayed for the courage and restraint of all devotees.
In a post on X, PM Modi posted, “On this Navratri, today, the salute of millions of years at the feet of Maa Brahmacharini! Devi can bless all her devotees with courage and restraint.”
He also shared a devotional song (bhajan) dedicated to the goddess. The video stars the images of the deity in his Brahmacharini avatar.
Literally the female student dedicated to the Brahmacharini is the second form of Navdurga, who is the incarnation of Goddess Parvati. She is shown wearing a white sari, who is holding a garland in her right hand and a water pot in her left hand.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took on social media and extended his wishes on the occasion.
“On Sharadia Navratri, it is my prayer that the second form of Adishki Maa Bhagwat, Maa Brahmacharini, blesses all devotees with faith and confidence,” he said in a post on X.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took for X and posted, “Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the residents of the state on the second day of Shardia Navratri.
Goddess Brahmacharini lives in Swadheshna Chakra. Brahmacharini represents an unmarried position, and the color symbolizes white purity. His form, which bears a chanting and Kamandalu, is a symbol of spiritual discipline.
Shardia Navratri started on Monday (22 September) and will continue till 2 October. Each day is dedicated to various incarnations of Goddess Durga. The nine -day festival respects the nine forms of Goddess Durga. Devotees perform special prayers, rituals and fasting throughout the festival.
A large number of devotees thrilled temples across the country. People started lining outside the temples in the morning.
