Srinagar, June 22: Police on Sunday arrested a suspect, including a suspected and living ammunition, during a search operation in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that while acting on a reliable input, a raid was conducted at the residence of Mohammad Maqbool Dar alias Javaid Dar, who registered a resident of New Colony, a resident of Sarivarpora Pattan, in connection with 2024 FIRs of police station Pattan, registered under Section 10 and 13 of the UAPA and 121 and 121 and 121-A IPC.
A police statement said, “During the search operation, the police recovered posters associated with the banned organization Jammu and Kashmir National Front and 20 live rounds of AK -47 ammunition from the said place.
The accused was taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
“In view of the nature of recovery, additional provisions -23 of the UAPA and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act have also been implemented in the case,” police said. (KDC)
