mary earps received mixed reception from Manchester United Fans during his first return to Old Trafford since leaving the club in 2024.

Those jokes were soon overshadowed by more excitement, applause and praise for the former England star, who made 102 appearances for United in five years at the club.
“I was at Manchester United for five years and yes, I wish some things had gone a little differently. I felt it was the best thing to do, start a new chapter and it was very sad to leave but I look back with really good memories,” Earps revealed ahead of his return to Old Trafford.
He further said: “[It was] Written in the stars, some might say. From the moment he qualified, I knew it would happen. To return to Old Trafford, a special place, with lots of wonderful memories.
“Manchester United are in incredible form… they’re having a really good time. I’m looking forward to it, I hope it’s going to be a special night and a really great game.”
When asked what type of reception she was expecting, Earps was honest and largely predicted how Man Utd fans would react.
“I have no idea,” she began, “I hope it’ll be good but I’m probably expecting a little bit of a bummer. I’m hoping it will be a little bit, but it might be too much.
“I hope it’s a great game and really enjoyable. It’s an incredible stadium, two incredible teams but I don’t know what the reception will be like.”
