Map of UK traffic accident: the worst area for road incidents revealed

Among the four main road user groups – car, pedestrians, motorcycle drivers and bicycle drivers – motorcycle drivers experienced the most important change.

According to DFT, the number of motorcycle deaths increased by 9 percent in 2024 compared to 2023. During the last 12 months, in 2024 from 315, some 343 riders lost their lives in accidents.

The deaths of pedestrians also increased, 405 to 2 percent in 2023 to 413 to 413 in 2024.

People aged 17–29 created 24 percent of the road death and 28 percent of the number of all casualties, and people over 70 years of age were 22 percent fatal, but only 8 percent of the overall casualties.

Overall, last year all seriousness were 128,375 casualties – 3 percent decrease compared to 2023 – and 1,633 fatal – 1 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The number of people killed or seriously injured remained largely unchanged at 29,537 compared to 2023.

Come President Edmund King said: “Every death on our streets is a tragedy, and sadly we are still losing at least four people in a day.

“If this level of loss was experienced at any other form of transport, there would be a national investigation and public outrage.

“Nevertheless, for some reason, we accept it as the risk of moving around our communities. It should not happen.”

Mr. King included the government’s upcoming road safety strategy such as “bold action” such as seats or drug driving for not wearing strict punishment.

He also emphasized the need for safety of “new worthy” Drivers“To ensure that they feel confident on the road before” exposing additional risks “such as carrying passengers of uniform age.
