Police said that several people were injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Beleghata area of ​​Kolkata on Tuesday afternoon.

He said that a private bus of Route 44 and a Howrah-bound WBTC bus collided on Beleghata Main Road.

He said that the driver of the government WBTC bus was trapped in the cabin and his condition is said to be critical.

Many women and children are also among those injured in the accident. Police said that the injured people have been admitted to NRS Hospital.

Local people said that there were about 40 passengers in both the buses. Police said an investigation was underway to find out what caused the accident and both buses were removed from the scene.

He told that the driver of the private bus is missing. Due to the accident, there was a huge traffic jam in the busy area.
