Many MLAs call Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, raise issues related to development

Srinagar, August 5: Several members of the Legislative Assembly called Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar today to discuss the public concerns and development issues of his respective constituencies.

Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Dar (Chadura), Dr. MLAs from Shafi Ahmed Wani (Birwah), Saifuddin Bhat (Khan Sahib) and Javed Iqbal Chaudhary (Budhal).

During the meeting, the MLA has been brought to the attention of the Chief Minister, which is on various constituency-specific issues related to infrastructure development, public service distribution and implementation of welfare schemes. He urged for a sharp redressal to suppress public demands to ensure timely benefits to reach the people.

The MLA further urged the Chief Minister to take necessary measures for the initial inauguration of the tourist destinations of Tosamadan and Duthapathri in Budgam district, as the livelihood of the local population depends on these areas.

The legislators recently thanked the Chief Minister for expanding the Power Amnesty scheme for electricity consumers in Jammu and Kashmir. He appreciated the initiative that as an important step towards providing relief to thousands of houses, he was struggling with timely payment of electricity bills, resulting in them difficult to clean interest and punishment and payments on the original amount.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah assured the MLAs that the government is committed to addressing the real concerns of the people and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the administration and elected representatives for inclusive development.
