Manchester United Are considering selling “seat licenses” at their new stadium.
The concept would allow supporters to purchase the right to a specific seat for a certain period of time, covering football matches and other events at the ground.
The club is seeking fans’ views on the idea, which will not replace traditional season tickets, in a new online survey which goes live from Thursday.
All match-going supporters, including season-ticket holders, official members and hospitality purchasers, are being invited to attend.
Views are also being sought on various other matters such as pricing, facilities and seating options.
United unveiled bold plans for a £2bn, 100,000-capacity new stadium to replace Old Trafford in March.
United say the survey “marks the next stage of consultation with supporters on the club’s ambition to create a new stadium that offers the best fan experience in the world”.
They emphasize that they intend to make participation in the Games “affordable and accessible”.
More than 50,000 fans took part in earlier research conducted in the autumn of 2024.
A statement said: “We are committed to ensuring that our core community of match-watching fans can continue to attend, feel valued and play a real role in shaping the new stadium with us.
“The seat licensing option is one of a number of potential initiatives being explored and we will be doing further research with fans about alternative options in the coming months.
“Our overarching objective is to balance the financing of a new stadium with keeping football affordable and accessible to fans and preserving the match-going culture for future generations.”
