Hyderabad:
A 34-year-old man, who allegedly sent a bomb threat email to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here, was nabbed in Bengaluru, police said on Monday.
He said the accused, hailing from Bihar state and now settled in Bengaluru, worked in the IT sector from 2012 to 2020.
During the Covid pandemic, he fell ill and later lost his job. He said that after this he went into depression and sent threatening mails to RGIA and other important establishments.
In the last few days, the accused sent two threatening emails from his mail ID to the airport and created panic among the employees. After verification, it was found that they were fake mails following which cases were registered.
Based on technical evidence, the RGIA police caught the accused in Bengaluru on February 18 and brought him to Hyderabad.
Police said that during interrogation he confessed to committing the crime.
A cell phone and a laptop were seized from his possession.
