A man who complained of a bad headache while putting a Christmas tree Shock And one Brain bleeding Who has left him unable to walk or speak.
41 -year -old Martin was living in Omeme Dubai With his wife, Laika and his then five -year -old daughter, Isabella, when he felt a serious headache on 15 December 2024.
He woke up at 1 o’clock, took three steps from the bed and collapsed.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was given a cranioscopy, found that he had faced a hemorrhagic stroke.
Martin was then placed in a coma for 10 weeks and is unable to last or speak for a few 10 months.
In April 2025, Martin was eventually able to return to the UK New Cross Hospital In Volwarhampton where he was treated in the ICU for many, life-threatening infections.
Martin is in a stable position since July and is currently in Masle Hall Hospital, BirminghamWhich specializes in patients with brain injury.

Martin’s brother, Carl, 42, has quit his job as a senior manager in education to take care of Martin and his inappropriate family, and is raising funds to buy equipment that will allow non-verifying Martin to communicate with his six-year-old daughter and the outside world.
Karl said, “We are uncertainly prevailing what can be done for him or not.”
“The reality is that, he is never likely to run again. We are not sure which parts of it will be returned.
“I just want him to be able to interact with his daughter, she is such a daddy girl.
“She is doing amazing at this time but will catch it.
“She was unable to meet her during her time in intensive care and now she is able to speak barely.
“He played 4, and Martin was leaving the pieces on the floor. You could see his despair growing. It was really difficult and it is with all the games.
“He can’t talk to her, or pick her up and give her a huge.”

Martin moved abroad in 2017, eventually settled in Dubai to work in sales, where he now met his wife Lyka.
In 2019, he welcomed Isabella in the family.
After recovering from surgery after his stroke, in mid -February 2025, Martin suffered a deadly kidney and respiratory infection, which led to a hindrance to his recovery.
Karl said, “Such infections are parts and parcels in the hospital,” Karl said, as Martin’s immune system was severely weakened,
Martin was then told by his health insurance company that he would have to do self-funds for any further medical treatment in Dubai.
“As long as you are in the role of a senior management in Dubai, it is a very expensive place to live and it can be difficult to complete.”
“We realized that we would have to return to the UK for NHS treatment, but since he was far away for so long, it was not straightforward.
“Also, his wife, Laika, is Filipino and will need a visa. Then there was the issue of taking him home in his kingdom.
“However, we knew that it was something that was to be done.”
Martin was medically redefied in the UK in April 2025 and was accepted at the New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, where his parents live.
Following a successful course of antibiotics, his infections were treated, Martin was rushed to Masle Hall Hospital, where he remained since June, although with a brief return to the ICU.
“Masle Hall has been amazing,” Karl said.
“He rehabilitation daily, going on an exercise bike that takes his feet to run and take some dynamics in them.
“The speech team is trying to get her to make specific sounds to move her lips, so how to speak.
“If you are talking to him, you have to pay real attention to know that he represents each noise.”

An ex -serviceman, Karl was working as a senior manager in education when Martin had his stroke.
In July, he decided to dedicate his time and energy to support Martin, Laika and Isabella, which is now six years old.
Carl said: “We have 18 months between us and we rub with the brothers, I was not really enjoying the work and I realized that I did not want to regret what I did not.
“We spend a lot of time together and I am still treating him like a brother, I am not feeling sorry for him, joking with him as usual.”
“It all seems to be in hours, but this is my way to do the best for him. I want to try and give him some quality of life.”
Carl said he wants Martin’s daughter, Isabella, be able to communicate with her properly, as it is a heartbreaking to see her unable to join her as father and daughter.
Carl can divide all income between Martin’s funds and Stroke Association for his brother.
At the end of this week, he will be in Winchester with a bucket; He recently hosted a charity pub quiz in his local in Wiltshire along with a Raffle.
In November, he is hosting a charity auction.
Carl said, “I wrote more than 500 sports teams and businesses.”
“I heard back from about 5 percent, so we have some best things for sale, such as a signed Paul Gascoigne signed the England shirt and a signed Tom Jones Photo and LP.
“We have Olympian athletes such as (British runner) Adam Zemili; (Swimmer who wins the double Olympic gold medal) Rebecca Eldington; and (East 400m Riven) Jamie Butch, which is amazing, also supports.”
Next year, Carl is planning to move from the end of the land to John O’grots at a huge challenge to promote donation.
