A person has been arrested after an incident at Heathro Airport, due to which Terminal 4 was withdrawn on Monday evening.
A major emergency service response was launched on Monday before 5 pm after reporting the incident of a possible dangerous material at Heathro Airport, which closed Terminal Four for three hours. Metropolitan police expert officials attended the spot along with the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service.
A 57 -year -old man was arrested on suspicion of occupation of a gun and on Tuesday, expert officers are considered CS sprays after creating a public disturbance.
The spray is used by the UK police forces as a temporary disability spray, which is to subdue those who can pose risk for themselves or others.
It is believed that this substance caused a reaction to those inside the airport, which caused 21 people reporting injuries to paramedics, because CS sprays were believed to be irritated. It has been confirmed that the spray did not cause any life to change or threaten injuries.
The suspected police remains in custody, the force said, saying that the incident is not being considered related to terrorism and an investigation is on.
Dozens of flights were delayed and thousands of passengers were affected by the incident in Terminal 4 of Europe’s busiest airport on Monday evening, as the airport advised passengers not to travel to Terminal 4, while National Rail said that trains were unable to call the terminal due to the incident. Transport links to the airport were already affected by the London underground attacks.
LFB said it was first said about the incident at 5.01 am and was attended by the crew of Feltham, Heathro, Vambali and nearby fire stations.
