Jaipur, October 10 (IANS) In a tragic incident, a man and two of his relatives died while taking his mother’s body from Jaipur to Haryana on Friday.
The accident occurred on Rohtak’s 152D flyover when his car collided with a stationary truck.
ATS officer ASI Joginder Kaur died on Thursday in Jaipur following complications related to the kidney transplant she underwent three to four years ago.
The tragic incident occurred when his family had come from Haryana to bring his body to their home in Rohtak.
According to police, Kaur’s relatives – her son, Kirat, (24), sister, Krishna, (61), and a relative, Sachin, from Sonipat, were traveling in a car behind the ambulance carrying her body.
At around 4.30 am, his car collided with a parked truck on the 152D flyover. The collision was so severe that the front part of the car was completely damaged.
On information from passersby, police from Meham police station of Rohtak reached the spot and saved the victims by cutting the windows of the car.
All four passengers were taken to hospital. Doctors declared Kirat, Krishna and Sachin dead, while the condition of a female passenger – wife of ACB constable Dalbir – remains critical and is undergoing treatment at PGI Rohtak.
Police confirmed that the injured woman is the wife of constable Dalbir, posted with the Jaipur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). One of the deceased, his son Sachin, recently joined duty as a veterinary doctor in Pali.
All three bodies have been kept in the civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem, while the damaged car and truck have been confiscated by the police.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the car driver may have dozed off during the journey.
“The family was traveling late at night after receiving the body from Jaipur. The car apparently failed to notice the stationary truck and collided with it at high speed,” officials said.
