Man pulled into MRI machine after going to an examination hall wearing a chain necklace

Police said Westbury, NY (AP) – A person was pulled into a MRI machine in New York, when he went into a room wearing a large chain necklace, the police said.

The 61 -year -old man entered an MRI room, while a scan was going on at the NASU Open MRI on Wednesday afternoon. According to the NASAU County Police Department, the strong magnetic force of the machine attracted him with his metal necklace.

Police said the incident “took place in a medical episode” who admitted the person to the hospital in critical condition. The authorities did not release his name and there was no update on the condition of the man on Friday.

A man who responded to the phone at NASAU Open MRI on Long Island refused to comment on Friday.

According to the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioinizing, MRI machines “employ a strong magnetic field”
