At least one swan has been killed and others were seriously injured when they were below a man E-bike,
One animal maintained “horrific injuries”, including a collapsed neck and the other was bleeding and was feared to be dead after hit and run. The witnesses were “frightened”, when the driver allegedly rode a “motion” near a canal path in Leh, Greater ManchesterOn 18 July.
RSPCA Now after this incident, an appeal has been started for more information, which has been described as “extremely distressed”. Charity has asked anyone that the hit and run have been seen by the anchor field to come forward.
RSPCA Inspector Rachel Whali said: “This was a very disturbing task. These poor birds had no way to avoid the high speed of the scooter, and the injuries described are really frightening. Is it careful or deliberately lacking, the driver of the scooter did not stop to check on the husk.
“We are incredibly concerned and are eager to talk to anyone that may be able to shed some light on what happened here.”
Charity stated that a bird was found to be with a collapse, heavy bleeding and possible eye trauma, a second was bleeding, but managed to return to the water and was feared to be dead, and the third swan situation is unknown.
The man is described as being in his 20s or 30s, and a dark or navy-blue electric scooter is ride. Charity stated that he was wearing a hat and was moderate construction with curly hair.
Ms. Whali said: “We have already received many calls and messages from public members of the public and are grateful to help them. We know that there are many houses in the area with security cameras and doorbell footage – it can be important to help us identify the scooter rider.”
