A person has died after a “workplace accident” Fanfare In NorthyPolice have said.
Emergency services reached Spanish City Summer Fair Whitley bayNorth Tincide, after receiving the report at around 2:15 pm on Saturday, that a man was seriously hurt, Northumbria police Said.
The person was treated at the scene, but died shortly after head injuries. The police is now investigating the death.
The Seaside Fairground will now remain closed till the next notice, initially to walk on the bank holiday weekend.
Health and safety executives have been informed about death.
The annual Spanish City Summer Funfare was opened on Thursday and the bank was scheduled to run till the holiday on Monday.

A spokesperson of the North East Ambulance Service said: “We sent a rapid response paramedic, a clinical team leader, an emergency ambulance crew and air ambulance.
“An off-duty medicine was also present to support the patient while the ambulance was traveling.”
Northumbria police said in a statement, “Immediately after 2.15 pm, we received a report that a person was injured in a workplace accident at Spanish City Summer Funfare in the Spanish City Plaza area of Whitley Bay in North Tincide.
“Emergency services participated and in their 20s a person suffered serious injuries.
“Despite the best efforts of the medical staff participating in the scene, the man was declared unhappy after some time.
“He has been contacted by the next family and is being supported by expert officials.
“Our thoughts are with man’s family in this extremely difficult time.
“We have approached the health and safety executive and are working with them what has actually happened.
“The fair has been closed to the public and will remain closed till the next notice.”
