Police said on Tuesday that in an important step to maintain the sanctity and safety of the ongoing Shri Amarnath ji Yatra (Sanji -2025), the J&K police have caught a person in Baltal to use a fake travel registration card to cheat through security posts.
In a handout to GNS, police said that the accused has been identified: Shivam Mittal S/O Krishna Mittal, Dwarka Puri, Jagdi, District Yamunnagar, resident of Yamunnagar, Haryana.
The person had purchased a fake travel card through fraud and attempted to mislead security personnel, bypassing the illegally compulsory security verification process.
In this regard, FIR No. 13/2025 has been registered under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Sonamarg, and a thorough investigation has been initiated.
J&K police is committed to maintaining the integrity and security of the journey. Strict legal action will be taken against any person involved in such illegal acts.
The general public is requested to report any suspicious activity or a person trying to use fake or invalid travel registration documents.
