A person has been arrested after a 72 -year -old woman was found dead in a house Cheshire,
Emergency services were called for a property in Pearson Street, MaclesfieldThe Cheshire police said that there is a concern for welfare on a property on Friday.
A woman was found dead at home at around 6.50 pm, the force said.
A post mortem examination found that the woman died of injuries on her head and neck.
Police on Monday arrested a 49 -year -old man on suspicion of murder. He is in police custody for questioning.
Detectives believe that death is an isolated event and there is no comprehensive risk to the public.
The force said the investigation would continue and there was a possibility of an increased police attendance in the surrounding area.
