Kolkata, 7 October (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday, reached a private hospital in Siliguri and the injured BJP member met Khagan Murmu, admitted there.
However, despite meeting Murmu, the Chief Minister met Ghosh, admitted to the same hospital. The Chief Minister had a brief conversation with Murmu and heard about his general medical conditions.
The Chief Minister assured Murmu’s family members for all possible help for all possible help in connection with the treatment of the injured BJP Lok Sabha. He advised the injured Lok Sabha member to follow the instructions from the doctors.
After coming out of the hospital, the Chief Minister told the media persons, “He is otherwise fine. The matter is not so serious.
The vehicle of BJP Lok Sabha member Khagen Murmu and the party’s main Koda in the West Bengal Assembly, Shankar Ghosh, was allegedly attacked by Trinmool Congress workers in Bamundanga, Jayapiguri, while they were on their way to Nagkata in the same district for the people affected by Rain and Lands.
In the attack, Murmu was seriously injured, and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Siliguri in Darjeeling district. Ghosh also suffered minor injuries and currently admitted to the same hospital in Siliguri,
On Monday, there was a social media war between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister on the attack on BJP Lok Sabha member and party MLA.
The Prime Minister issued a statement and claimed that the attack on BJP Lok Sabha members and party MLAs showed the insensitivity of Trinumool Congress as well as the state of absolutely pathetic law and order in the state.
The Chief Minister accused the Prime Minister of politicizing the natural disaster in North Bengal and claimed that he blamed Trinmool Congress and the West Bengal government without any verified evidence, legal investigation or administrative report.
