In a significant success against drug pedaling in the district, Anantnag police caught a drug pedaler and recovered a large amount of narcotics from its occupation in Srigufwara area.
A police spokesman said that while working on specific and reliable intelligence about storage of drugs, a team from the police station Srigufara conducted a careful planned raids in the residential house of Ajaz Ahmed Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohidin Bhat, who was a resident of Novshara, Sirigufara.
During the intensive discovery of the campus, the police team recovered and seized a consignment of 98 kg of poppy seeds. In addition, two mixer grinders, who were suspects used to process drugs, were also recovered from the spot.
The accused, Ajaj Ahmed Bhat, was immediately arrested on the spot. Contraband and other seized materials have been detained as a case property.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Srigufara under FIR No. 54/2025 under the respective classes of NDPS Act.
