The electric division generated revenues of over ₹8,000 crore in H1FY26, giving Mahindra the No. 1 position in revenue market share. The company says the two “Electric Origin” models launched last November were aimed at changing India’s EV landscape and have since accomplished that goal.
According to the company, the owners together have driven the SUV for more than 200 million kilometres. The launch campaign received over 4 billion views, making the XEV 9e and BE 6 the most talked-about Indian automobiles of the year.
Enhanced daily use and long range capability
Mahindra says SUVs have become the primary vehicle for most owners. 65% of all units are run every working day, and more than 1,000 vehicles have crossed 20,000 km, and some have crossed 50,000 km within seven months.
According to the company, 70% owners drive more than 1,000 km per month, while 10% owners drive more than 3,000 km per month. About 60% of SUVs cover a range of 500+ km in the city (achieved at speeds below 100 kmph).
Mahindra also claims that these vehicles have been used in temperatures ranging from 4 degrees Celsius in Leh to 53 degrees Celsius in the Thar Desert. About 30% of owners have completed one-day trips of up to 400 km, and some customers have traveled across 10 states in one trip.
Mahindra reports that 80% of the buyers of the XEV 9e and BE 6 are new to the brand. The company says the models have attracted luxury-SUV aspirants, young urban professionals, design-focused buyers and tech-oriented families.
BE6 becomes a cultural trend
The BE6 has developed a strong following, with owners often modifying the SUV with custom colors and accessories.
Mahindra highlighted two key collaborations:
bgmi x bee 6This is the first time that an Indian auto brand features in India’s biggest gaming title.
batman x bei 6A global-first edition, all 999 units of which sold out in about two minutes.
Mahindra says the first year of the XEV 9e and BE6 has changed EV perception in India by making electric SUVs a mainstream choice. The company will launch its first seven-seater electric Origin model, the XEV 9S, tomorrow.
