New Delhi, October 7 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday that Maharishi Valmiki’s life and teachings have continued to inspire generations with the message of their compassion, equality and dignity of labor.
Speaking at the Valmiki Dalit Mahapanch held in Trilokpuri on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayati, the Chief Minister said that through his immortal work, Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki reminded the society that true strength comes from harmony and humanity.
The Chief Minister said, “Maharishi Valmiki gave Ramayana to the world, through which we came to know the life and character of Lord Shri Ram in all its depths. His message of compassion and equality is timeless and still continues to guide us.”
The special event was attended by citizens, community leaders and public representatives from various fields of life, who shared their views on Maharishi Valmiki’s philosophy and teachings. MLA Ravikant was also present on the occasion.
Talking about the message of Ramayana, the Chief Minister said that both Lord Shri Ram and Maharishi Valmiki showed us how equality and compassion is the foundation of a fair society.
He said, “Lord Shri Ram went by hand with everyone – Kevat, Nishadraj, Shabari, and the monkey army – teaching us that progress is only when each section of the society moves together.”
The Chief Minister said that Maharishi Valmiki’s own life shows that anyone can change his fate through self-awareness and discipline. “His life was one of deep reflections and service. He showed that real religion lies in mercy, truth and helping others,” he said.
In a related development, BJP President of Delhi Shri Virendra Sachdeva prayed at the Shri Valmiki Temple located on the temple route and prayed for the prosperity of the people of Delhi.
Sachdeva also BJP Treasurer Satish Garg was also presented on the evcation.
Talking to the media after prayers, Sachdev greeted the people of Delhi on the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki and said that the Ramayana composed by Maharishi Valmiki introduced us to the divine character of Lord Shri Rama.
He said that the way Maharishi Valmiki depicted the life of Lord Shri Ram during his lifetime, inspiration and inspiration for all of us continue to work as a source of ideal.
He said that Delhi is moving forward on the path of development, and with the continuous all-round efforts of the BJP government, this progress will continue in every field.
