Maharashtra: Man’s leg bit off by shark while fishing and later killed by locals

In a horrific incident in Palghar, Maharashtra, a man while fishing came across a shark that surrounded him and bit his leg.

Locals captured video of the incident, which shows the shark emerging from the water and flapping its tail. Locals caught the fish in nets and brought them to shore, but it was unclear whether there were more sharks in the water.

The shark allegedly entered the Vitana river, which flows through Nashik and Palghar districts and flows westward into the Arabian Sea. On Tuesday, Vicky Gowari and some people went into the bay for fishing. Surprisingly, a shark appeared there and bit Vicky’s leg, causing him serious injuries.

In another video of the incident, the shark, which was killed by locals, was seen tied to the shore with a rope and had blood on its belly.
