Parag Shah, the BJP’s Ghatkopar East candidate in Mumbai, is the richest candidate in Maharashtra. According to the election affidavit, his wealth is Rs 3,383.06 crore. Moreover, his wealth has increased by 575% in the past 5 years. In the 2019 Assembly elections, his wealth was Rs 5,506.2 crore. Let us tell you that the nomination process for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 has been completed and all the candidates have submitted their affidavits in which the asset details of each have also been disclosed.

Parag Shah is the current BJP MLA from Ghatkopar seat. Shah is also a real estate developer. Many of his projects are spread across Gujarat and Chennai. During the 2017 BMC elections, he declared his assets worth Rs 690 crore. His wife Mansi also owns assets worth tens of millions, including commercial, residential and agricultural properties. Parag Shah was also the richest candidate in the assembly elections earlier in 2019, with assets worth over Rs 500 crore. Apart from this, the affidavit also revealed that he owns movable assets worth Rs 422 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 78 crore.

How educated was Parag Shah? How did he get into politics?



Parag Shah graduated in commerce from Osmania University and entered Maharashtra politics in the 2017 civic elections. Parag Shah is contesting from the Ghatkopar East seat, where the BJP is believed to have a strong hold. In the 2019 assembly elections, Parag Shah secured 57% of the votes in the seat, defeating the MNS candidate by a huge margin. Mehta Prakash Manchubhai of the Bharatiya Janata Party successfully won the 2014 Assembly elections.
