New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) As the countdown to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections intensifies, leaders of the ruling coalition have launched a full-blown confidence campaign, emphasizing governance and development achievements, while describing the opposition as divided and behind in the race.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said, “The people of Bihar have made up their mind that this time again the NDA will form the government. With the blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and the strategy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the NDA is going to form the government in Bihar.”
“The grand alliance has completely lagged behind in the campaign and is facing major internal divisions,” he said.
Meanwhile, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan stressed on law-order and economic initiatives under the alliance.
He said, “One thing is clear: the rule of law is being followed. Anyone facing allegations, whether from our party or the ruling coalition, will be dealt with as per the law. There are many examples of action being taken. It is not like 1990 to 2005, when the police had to take orders from the chief minister’s office.”
She highlighted the coalition government’s economic achievements: “Since the New Industrial Policy and Investment Initiative, around Rs 42,000 crore has been invested, boosting industries and employment in Bihar. Government job directives are in place, and work is in progress. Funds are provided with assistance up to Rs 2 lakh to help women start businesses. The opposition’s claims of bribery are false; these measures empower women.”
Together, these statements reflect the ruling coalition’s two-pronged pitch ahead of the elections, a narrative of strong governance, economic progress and women-centric empowerment, while also criticizing the opposition as ununited and unable to mount a sustained challenge.
Bihar elections will be held in two phases – on November 6 and 11, and counting of votes will take place on November 14.
The next few days will see intense campaigning across Bihar, and these statements from senior leaders underline the stakes as both the alliances position themselves strongly for the electoral battle ahead.
