Bhopal, October 9 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) will organize a three-day Travel Mart program from October 11 at the Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in Bhopal. Government officials gave this information on Thursday.
Additional chief secretary (tourism) and MPTB chief Shiv Shekhar Shukla said the event will be attended by over 700 participants, including over 80 foreign tour operators from 27 countries.
He said the event will bring together domestic and international buyers, sellers, travel agents, film representatives and key stakeholders from the tourism sector.
“Travel Mart 2025 will showcase the state’s diverse tourism offerings – heritage, wildlife, rural culture, handicrafts, cuisine and film tourism – under one roof,” Shukla said at a press conference on Thursday.
Sharing details about the event, Shukla also informed that more than 120 stalls will be set up, which will have live demonstrations of Gond art and Chanderi saree weaving along with handloom and handicraft products.
He said dedicated stalls of tourism stakeholders would also be part of the exhibition.
The cultural segment will feature a 40-minute group dance performance choreographed by renowned artist Maitreyi Pahari, showcasing the natural beauty and historical heritage of Madhya Pradesh.
The iconic Maihar Band, representing the musical identity of the state, will also perform along with folk and tribal dances showcasing the cultural heritage and traditions of Madhya Pradesh.
Traditional cuisine and local folk culture will add more vibrancy to the event.
It will connect the state’s hoteliers, travel and tour operators, homestay owners and other tourism stakeholders (vendors) with major domestic and international buyers including leading hoteliers and tour operators.
Shukla said, “This initiative will not only increase tourist inflow to Madhya Pradesh, but will also open new avenues of economic development in the tourism sector and create local employment opportunities.”
Additionally, international conferences and roundtable sessions will be organized with state governments (G2G) and wedding and corporate organizers (G2B) to explore regional opportunities.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and various state tourism departments will also participate.
The event will also see investment incentives, new tourism project agreements and collaborative announcements under the State Film Policy.
